Martin Riedel

Martin Riedel is a Munich-based AI and agentic software consultant with more than 15 years of experience across engineering, product and executive roles in enterprise, public-sector and frontier technology companies. He specializes in agentic AI architectures and AI security, building on a deep background in secure digital identity, PKI and cryptographic trust infrastructure. He is known for translating business problems into technical architectures, working closely with clients from requirements to production, and deploying complex technologies securely and at scale.

Martin is an AI Engineer at Civic Technologies, runs Riedel IT Consulting, and founded Shellwatch, which provides passkey-backed SSH for humans and agents. He was previously Chief Product Officer of idOS and CTO of Identity.org. From 2018 to 2024 he chaired the Claims & Credentials Working Group at the Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF).
